About

Heart-Centered DC is a hyperlocal blog and newsletter exploring the intersection of art, culture and spirituality in the nation’s capital.

Inspired by solutions journalism, Heart-Centered DC gives voice to the diverse people and organizations who uplift DC.

Heart-Centered DC is the sister project to Heart-Centered Living, which is broader in scope while featuring a segment titled “From DC with Love.”

Both digital media projects are the heartchild of award-winning writer and HeartCamp Unconference founder Maria de los Angeles, a 2024 Fellow with the D.C. Arts and Humanities Commission. Read the Building a foundation in the heart of the nation’s capital for a note from the publisher with more information.

HeartCenteredDC is currently in a soft launch phase as we build an archive of stories and a robust community calendar focused on the healing arts, art and spirituality and other relevant categories.

If you can spare a few minutes to take an early audience survey that would be most helpful.
